What IS Mail Art? This one-day introduction to the fascinating world of Mail Art will start with a contextual primer and plenty of inspiring examples of art and artists working in this genre. The rest of the day will be yours to create your own mail art. Several international calls for entry will be available: for the cost of postage, your art can go international!

PRINTMAKING – PAINTERLY MONOTYPES

Painterly Montypes are a creative playground, a spontaneous approach to image-making where a new work can be made from a previous one in an exploration of variations, or new works can be created every time. Inks are applied to a plexi surface and transferred to paper with a press. Layering these transparent colours, masking areas, removing and adding colour, are just a few of the ways to explore. No previous experience is necessary, just a playful spirit.
Slow-drying, water-based inks allow for experimentation without time pressure and without the use of solvents. Clean-up is done simply, with soap & water.

STUDIO POTTERY
Wed. January 25 – March 21

Explore the possibilities of pottery! Students will learn methods of handbuilding such as pinching slab building and coiling. Students will also learn how to pull a handle and experiment with various surface decorations and glazes. New projects for returning students.
Materials included in fee. No experience needed! (8 sessions)
