“Not only did the gallery grant career-related experiences, it opened a door to a social network. The gallery is the meeting place and cornerstone for artists in the community. It has been an invaluable reference when venturing outside of the community, allowing for other artists and institutions to understand who I am and where I come from.”

JR Hunter, Artist

"My family decided to check out the Heritage Day festivities in Whitby and we came across the tent for the Station Gallery. My daughters had a great time painting their pictures and were so proud of the work they did on them. What a great idea! It's a great way to showcase Canadian artist's talents while educating the kids in such a fun way!"

"Our volunteer days at the Station Gallery doing newsletter and school mailouts are always enjoyable ones - friendly staff, pleasant environment and we are certainly made to feel that what we are doing is appreciated. A special bonus is a new friend made through my volunteer experiences there."

"Incorporating art, in this case multi-media collage into the history curriculum provided my students the opportunity to apply their learning in a whole new way. Rather than mere rote learning, the students came away with a deeper, richer understanding of their researched topic".

S. Stevens, Teacher
